April Pogue has an absolute passion for wine, discovered while working with the 5th Floor restaurant in San Francisco. That love has carried her from Spago in Beverly Hills, Seattle’s Cascadia, and Earth & Ocean - right to Carillon Point! As our new sommelier at the Yarrow Bay Grill and the Beach Café, April is very excited about the Wine Spectator award winning wine list and the opportunity to offer a wide variety of glass pours from the Oz wine system. INTERMEDIATE WSET WINE COURSES

Wine expert James Cluer of Fine Vintage Ltd. offers the next of the UK based Wine and Spirit Education Trust courses (the gold standard in wine education) – The Intermediate. There are still a few seats available for classes to be held from Oct. 20 to Dec. 15, 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Each class features a minimum of eight high quality wines with food matching components prepared by Executive Chef Vicky McCaffree. Classes are instructional, lively, fun and include preparation for the optional exams given at the end of each course.
